MY CORE VALUES: GUIDING MY VOTES SINCE 2013
RESPECT FOR PRIVATE PROPERTY
Private property rights are the cornerstone of our personal freedoms. All of our personal rights and freedoms stem from the value government places on private property.
FISCAL DISCIPLINE, INTEGRITY AND TRANSPARENCY
Wyoming's budgeting process needs to be reformed. A zero-based budgeting process needs to be implemented.
RESPECT FOR CONTRACTS
Nothing demonstrates a society's commitment to the rule of law than they way it honors contracts between and among willing individuals and businesses.
FREE MARKETS AND CAPITALISM
Government has no business picking winners and losers in Wyoming's marketplace, or using taxpayer dollars to help one business over another.
STATE AND INDIVIDUAL SOVEREIGNTY
The states created the federal government. Governments are instituted among men only to secure the individual, sovereign rights with which we have been endowed. Government serves by the consent of the governed. Wyoming is not a Territory. We are a sovereign state - it's time we acted like it.
I will never vote for a bill, or support a rule that presumes the average individual's inability to manage his own affairs.
LIMITED, CONSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT
The United States is not a Democracy, but a Republic - if we can keep it. Powers not granted to the federal government in the Constitution are reserved to the states and to the people.
THE IMPORTANCE OF RELIGION AND TRADITIONAL MORALITY
Religion is critical to the function of our Republic. The traditional, religious virtues of fortitude, love, hope, faith, prudence, honor, charity, justice, frugality are needed now, more than ever. "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." Matthew, 7:12
